WHAT QUALIFICATION PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE?:

  • Sucessful Course participant will receive a Power Safety Training Certificate. It is valid at any workplace in Ireland for 2 years from issue date.

COURSE TIMES & LOCATIONS:

  • Instructors will complete training on-site. Course duration 1 day and may vary and can be discussed at the time of booking.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE:

  • All those who select, hire or work in MEWPS.

WHY SHOULD STAFF TAKE THIS COURSE:

  • To comply with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 chapter 4 Part 2

COURSE AIMS:

  • Operate a MEWP safely and correctly in accordance with the Manufacturer’s handbook.

  • Identify their responsibilities under current legislation.

  • Operate a MEWP safely – reducing the risk of injury to operators and others.

  • Conduct pre-Inspection check on MEWP.

  • Operate a MEWP correctly and access heights.

  • Understand the duties of a MEWP operator.

  • Know the specifications relevant to the operation of the MEWP e.g. safe working loads etc.

  • Understand the potential consequences of their actions – using the MEWP.

  • Refuel/recharge MEWP safely.

  • Understand the relevance of identifying and recording maintenance or operating problems.

MEWPs COURSE CONTENT:

  • Introduction to course – Legislation etc.

  • Explanation, demonstration and practice in the correct procedures to adopt when operating a MEWP.

  • Accidents – causes and prevention.

  • Daily safety checks / inspection.

  • Safe use of outriggers and stabilisers.

  • Safe operating practices and safety video.

  • Emergency procedures.

  • Correct PPE selection & use.

  • Battery charging & refuelling.

COURSE OUTCOME:

•    Successful delegates will receive a Power Safety Training Certificate. This certificate is valid for 3 years.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

  • All of our courses are delivered using the English language so delegates must also have a good command of English both written and spoken so the course can be fully understood.

  • At least 16 years of age

  • Medically fit to operate machinery

  • PPE Gear, i.e., Helmet, Safety Boots, Hi-Visibility Vest
